Supporting education, passion and commitment.

Chandu Lodhia Foundation (CLF) raises funds for underprivileged students who show a commitment to higher education. Our due diligence process is simple; we look for students who are open, honest, and passionate about education. We build a strong connection and relationship with our students because we’re interested in investing in the whole person, not just in their school fees.

Faithful to Chandu's vision and way of life, our sponsorship program incorporates the following:

1. Food: Not only meals, but housing, health insurance, transport costs and monthly allowance will be covered.

2. Fun: We want to know our students, check in on their well-being and ensure they have fun while on their educational journey.

3. Learning: We will sponsor their education in the field that best suits each student, be that university or vocational school. We support students who are eager to pursue a diploma or degree but don't have the resources.

About Chandu Lodhia

Chandu loved learning, he would wake up at 5 AM to learn new magic tricks and create fun games for our family. He was all about food, fun and learning. He used to say education is one of the most meaningful gifts a parent could give their children.

Chandu loved school, but he didn't have the opportunity to go to college due to a lack of finances. This is the case for many young Tanzanians today.

Chandu ensured that his children and others who wanted to study could do so. For the students Chandu sponsored, he would say: let's make sure they have good food and are happy so they can focus on studying. ” It wasn’t just about books; it was about joy.

Why Chandu Lodhia Foundation?

Chandu passed away in November 2019. Though he is no longer with us, his memory is still very much alive - and we want to keep it that way. One of the ways we are doing this is by continuing his legacy of food, fun and learning by supporting what he believed in the most: higher education.

"I have to thank you. I feel so happy today cause I am going to start my studies. It's a miracle I never knew a day like this would come in my life but thanks to the Almighty for sending you. I am so grateful."
